| Thank You Berks County!
In a remarkable showing of generosity, Berks Countians once again turned out in droves to help United Way meet the most critical needs in our community by raising $8,806,915.
"This is outstanding!" said Jeff Rush, who co-chaired this year's campaign with his wife, Virginia. "We've seen time and time again that Berks County is a very generous community. We're extremely grateful to everyone who came together to help us surpass our goal."

Tax Preparation Volunteers Needed
Help working individuals and families keep more of what they earn with the Berks $ in Your Pocket Coalition, a coordinated effort of organizations and volunteers who make it possible to provide free tax preparation services to eligible individuals.
During the 2010 tax season, people just like you helped 3,064 Berks County individuals and families claim over $2.1 million dollars in tax refunds including $556,939 in Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
In these difficult economic times, it is more important than ever to reach out and help low to moderate income individuals and families receive the refunds they deserve.
If you would like to learn more about how one hour of your volunteer time can boost a family's income by $1,200, click here. No tax preparation experience is necessary. |
